 Uduak Ossum Uduak Osom, also known as “Udie” (pronounced you-dee), is the owner/operator of Innovative Therapy Services in Santa Clara, California. She is an experienced speech-language pathologist who specializes in working with children with oral motor disorders, feeding/dysphasia, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and expressive and auditory language disorders. She has worked extensively with babies, toddlers, preschool and school aged children.
Uduak has successfully designed and implemented several mainstreaming programs for children with communication disorders, including ASD, in the Santa Clara County schools. Uduak created the Paired Pragmatic Language Program five years ago to help mainstream children with communication disorders (including ASD), educate children with social pragmatic deficits, and teach sensitivity to peers.
Uduak has written, presented, and published articles for such organizations as Advance Magazine, The Santa Clara County Office of Education, The Santa Clara Parent University Workshop Program, and others. She is the author of Pragmatic Language Skills Program: “Turn-Taking with Your Friends,” and Pragmatic Language Skills Program: “Dialoguing with Your Friends & Understanding the Unspoken Rules.”
Uduak is a certified member of the American-Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (ASHA), and holds the Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC). She is also a member of the California-Speech-Language-Hearing-Association. She also has a speech-language license for the State of California. Uduak received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from San Jose State University.
